DRIP LINES

The drip line, otherwise the irrigation line, has become an indispensable element of watering the ground in farms and gardens in recent years.

Agriculture is the sector of the economy that uses the most water for watering plants. The world’s water resources are so scarce that it has become necessary to develop efficient and economical irrigation of crops. Therefore, we recommend using, among others, drip lines with pressure compensation, which, by providing optimal doses of water, maximize the efficiency of irrigation.

Interesting fact – in order for the water flow in the irrigation lines to be adequate, pressure reducers are used. They help distribute the water evenly in the pipes. It is necessary to choose the appropriate diameter and length of the lines, because if the lines are too long, the pressure disappears. It is also worth filtering the water, because impurities cause blockages that can lead to a reduction in watering efficiency.

The use of drip irrigation is becoming an increasingly popular method of watering areas. It is also used in home gardens where it effectively cares for moisture in flowerbeds or vegetable crops. Thanks to the solid construction and reinforcements, drip irrigation is installed in orchard areas and greenhouses.

I have been looking for the right solution for irrigation of crops for a long time. The drip line with pressure compensation gave me the opportunity to lay longer lines on the ground, where the water flow reached up to 100%. – opinion of Mr. Jurek

Watermil drip line systems are high-end equipment for soil irrigation. In production, we rely on the experience of world producers: Rivulis (former Jonh Deere Water) and Plastro. The drip irrigation line is available in different spacing of emitters and with different water flow rates. In addition, it can be divided into: a line with pressure compensation and without pressure compensation.

Drip line made of high-quality plastic

The Watermil drip line and all connectors, emitters and tees included in it are made of high quality materials. The entire irrigation system of the line is a roll of various lengths, e.g. 300 – 400 meters. Remember that water is essential for plants to live, which is why we recommend using irrigation systems to irrigate orchards, greenhouses and agricultural crops.

Drip lines produced by Watermil

The Watermil company is a Polish manufacturer of a drip line. We have a specialized laboratory that conducts continuous research on the product so that its quality is at the highest level. We also conduct experiments in accordance with the principle of continuous development and improvement.

We denote such parameters as:

  1. flow rate
  2. density
  3. pigment dispersion
  4. polymer melting point
  5. degree of crystallinity of polymers
  6. geometric dimensions of pipes and fittings
  7. appearance of pipes and fittings
  8. resistance of pipes to pressure and weather conditions

Where should drip lines be placed?

  1. row crops – the flow of water in rows with even spacing causes precise irrigation of the soil
  2. areas with a varied spatial arrangement, e.g. mountains

An exemplary maximum length of the drip line is calculated based on the parameters

PIPE DIAMETER (MM) 16 20
FLOW RATE (L/H) 1.2 1.6 2.2
DISTANCE BETWEEN EMITTERS (CM) 33 – 200
INLET PRESSURE (BAR) 1.0 2.0 3.0

What to look for when buying irrigation lines?

  • diameter – with a smaller diameter, shorter strings can be laid
  • spacing of emitters – the closer the drippers are placed, the shorter the strings
  • smoothness of the inner wall of the drip line
  • amount of flowing water
  • pressure

How long to water the drip line?

The time and frequency of watering with a drip line is a question for which the most accurate answer is – it depends. Mainly on the type of soil, plants or season. However, for drip irrigation to be effective, it must be remembered that the vast majority of plants need constant soil moisture, both for proper growth and the vegetation process. In most cases, but not necessarily, the bigger the plants are, the more water they will need. Thus, for watering to be effective, it is worth watering pointwise, and not directly to the root. In this case, a drip line will be the perfect solution.

How to make a drip line?

Creating an effectively functioning drip line requires knowledge and a bit of experience. What is most important is to reliably determine the total area and type of vegetation that will be irrigated. Another important consideration is the relief of the land, because creating an effective dripline design will depend on whether the terrain is located on slopes, hills with straight or terraced slopes. Only having such knowledge, you can properly plan the exact calculation of the parameters of the entire irrigation system, such as:

  1. The power of hydration
  2. Hydration frequency
  3. The length of the water supply elements.

It is worth remembering that designing a drip line, especially in more demanding areas, may require the use of special equipment and programs.

How does the drip line work?

A drip irrigation system is a popular and very profitable investment, especially in the long term. The operation of the system, unlike its creation, is not complicated. Water is transported using a drip line with emitters placed at appropriate intervals, i.e. openings, through which it is possible to supply water to the plants. The basis of the entire system is the supply pipe, which allows for a permanent connection to the drippers. The entire auxiliary system is connected to the filter so that the water is properly purified. Thus, the operation of the drip line belongs to simple, yet extremely efficient plant irrigation systems.

Drip line, what pressure?

The choice of a particular method of operating a drip line in terms of pressure also depends on many factors. Therefore, in the case of straight and level areas, the standard option, i.e. a drip line without pressure compensation, will be the best choice. On the other hand, in the case of uneven terrain, especially when the slope or slopes are more than one meter, compensation will be the recommended solution. Most often, drip lines with pressure compensation are used when:

  • The terrain is very diverse
  • Vegetables, fruits or other plants require no less than 100% of the so-called. distribution uniformity nutrients and water
  • All rows in cultivation are longer than 80m

After all, the selection of the best method should always be preceded by correct calculations in terms of the amount of water that must be supplied, and the juxtaposition of this with the costs that must be incurred.

PRESSURE COMPENSATED DROPPING LINE

Drip lines with pressure compensation are used when we assume precise irrigation of the ground. This product is usually laid on areas over 100 meters that need an even supply of water. The use of drip lilies with pressure compensation varies, but they work best in row crop areas. On flat ground, the pressure in the lines is evenly distributed and the plants are watered evenly. This situation also takes place on crops on sloping terrain and even slopes. The spacing of the drippers and the water consumption when irrigating plants is even.

The drip line with pressure compensation Watermil is:

  • technologically advanced cylindrical emitter, which is equipped with a pressure compensator with a silicone membrane
  • has a jet mechanism that is activated during each irrigation cycle. This is possible thanks to the improved Watermil PRO high-capacity path maze
  • the emitter is equipped with two exit holes and is resistant to temperature changes
  • high-strength product, resistant to mechanical damage
  • diameters of different widths, distances between emitters and water outputs
  • large range of working pressure from: 0.5-4.5 bar
  • manufactured and tested in a modern science park;

Drip lines – compensation of water outflow pressure. Turbulent water flow for high water savings

There is no denying that pressure compensating drip lines are extremely beneficial for many reasons. First of all, it’s about saving water – pressure compensation provides huge money savings on a monthly basis when it comes to water bills. A well-designed and properly installed drip line will work perfectly in any garden – the pressure compensation function will certainly be a great support for the funds of many gardeners. A drip line made in the right way, which has a built-in filtration system, is an extremely noteworthy issue. The outer diameter is an extremely important issue here and it is worth adjusting it to your preferences and needs. It will work well both on various types of field crops and on varied terrain. The drip line is also worth installing because it guarantees protection against the destructive factor, which is undoubtedly various fungal diseases of crops.

Controlled flow of water in the drip line along the entire length of the pipe

UV radiation is also safe for many drip line systems. It is worth investing in a system that offers even distribution of water along the entire length of the crop, providing huge savings. However, it is not only about saving water, but also time and energy. Watering in the traditional way is an extremely demanding and time-consuming issue, especially when it comes to those slightly larger orchards, gardens or other types of crops. In these situations, the use of a drip line is beneficial in many respects. It is worth investing in products of this type for watering various types of surfaces – it is about both the diversity of the soil and the plants grown on it.
